Dental & Vision

The care your health plan doesn't cover.

Major medical generally doesn't pay for cleanings, fillings, crowns, eye exams, frames, or lenses. These are the plans that do — standalone, affordable, and available with no-waiting-period options.

Dental

Coverage typically organized in three tiers, with your share rising as the work gets more involved.

  • Preventive — cleanings, exams, X-rays, usually covered at the highest level
  • Basic — fillings, extractions, simple procedures
  • Major — crowns, bridges, dentures, root canals
  • Orthodontic riders available on some plans

No-waiting-period plans available

Vision

Straightforward, predictable coverage for the things people actually use every year.

  • Annual eye exam with a low copay
  • Allowance toward frames
  • Lenses, including common upgrades
  • Contact lens allowance in place of glasses

Usually among the least expensive coverage you can buy

A note on waiting periods

Many dental plans impose a waiting period before major work is covered — often six to twelve months. Some don't. If you already know you need a crown, that distinction is the entire decision, and it's the first thing we'll check for you.

Plan designs, benefit levels, waiting periods, networks, and pricing vary by carrier and by state. The items above describe how these plans generally work, not the terms of any specific policy.
